These Friends Three

I have a piece in this show. It's the third annual and it is always great. Every year the opening is ridiculous. Come out so we can yell at each other over the din. THIS Los Angeles.

Another Youthbuild Photography Workshop

We had another great workshop with the youth of Venice Youthbuild a couple of weeks ago.

I have great admiration for the instructors and staff of the program. They are doing good work in very tough situations. Much respect. Thank you.

The good people at Edge Grip and Lighting stepped up and offered their assistance by providing gear for the workshops. Thank you so much guys.
Our political system offers us two slightly different versions of the same thing and somehow they still can't move forward. I think that all of us working together like this is how we are going to make it.

Lalo Alcaraz y'all!

These are some photos from the event Real and Virtual Worlds: A Forum On Today's Latino Americans. An informative discussion that took place last week at KPCC's Crawford Family Forum. It was an event sponsored by #LATISM and it's part of SCPR's One Nation initiative which will bring us more events throughout the year. It was a pleasure to attend and photograph. As always thanks to Edgar Aguirre for having me be a part of it. Adelante!

Photography Workshop with Venice Youthbuild

Last week we did workshop with the students of the Youthbuild program at John Muir Charter School in Venice, CA. Above are some of the photos we made.

This organization is doing good work with youth who struggle with poverty, gang affiliation, drug abuse, young parenthood and other barriers to moving beyond their circumstances. You can learn more about the program here and go to this site to become involved.

Report from Photo L.A.
I went to Photo L.A. this year after not having gone for a few years. There were of course elephants in tutus dancing in the moonlight but there was also some really good work. This was the best thing I saw. Siri KaurJoey L.Whitney HubbsFlorian JappStephanie GonotLiz SteketeePeter Holzhauer
